Uefa secures EBU partnership for Euro 2012

Uefa has secured a partnership with the European Broadcasting Union that will see Euro 2012, European soccer's top international championships, broadcast in 36 European countries.

Uefa has already secured partnerships with broadcasters in the two host nations, Poland and Ukraine, and will conclude separate deals in Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel, Kazakhstan, Portugal, Scandinavia and Slovakia as well as the big five European markets - France, Italy, Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Though the exact arrangements vary, the majority of the territories will see the majority of matches broadcast on free-to-air television, providing a further boost to Uefa's sponsors.

The agreement sees Uefa return to a partnership with the EBU after moving to work with international agency Sportfive for Euro 2008, held in Austria and Switzerland.

The following territories are covered under the agreement with the EBU: Albania, Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, FYROM, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland and Turkey.
