Australia has topped the medal tables at every edition of the Games since 1990, and is expected to do so again when the competition is held in India for the first time.

"Toshiba has a strong heritage in supporting athletes across the globe, including our nation's talented cyclists and especially our brand ambassador Anna Meares," said Toshiba's general manager, Mark Whittard. "Power, speed, reliability and performance are all critical to the success of sportsmen and women, and these are the same winning attributes that Toshiba strives to deliver to our customers through our leading technologies."

Perry Crosswhite, chief executive of Commonwealth Games Australia, added: "The outstanding support from Toshiba is very important in ensuring the Australian Team athletes have the opportunity to compete and do their best in Delhi in 2010.  Having a world leader consumer electronics company like Toshiba as a 2010 Australian Commonwealth Games Team Partner is very prestigious and is greatly appreciated."
