Australian newspaper The Herald Sun has struck a deal with Tiger Woods ahead of his appearance at the Australian Masters.

The deal, part of a contract agreed with event owner IMG, which manages Woods, will give the newspaper access to Woods at a private clinic, pro-am event and gala dinner, as well as including advertising support.

"Tiger Woods' inclusion brings the Australian Masters up to the level of our other hallmark events in Victoria like the Australian Open Tennis, Grand Prix, AFL Grand Final and the Melbourne Cup Carnival," said Tom Salom, strategic partnerships director at News Limited. "It is a natural fit for us as we continue our association with the biggest events in this state."

Woods is receiving a US$2 million appearance fee to play at the Australian Masters. It is his first appearance in Australia in more than a decade.
