SuperSport, the South African broadcaster, has signed a deal with Taj Television, owners of Ten Sports, that gives it exclusive rights to distribute Taj TV's entire portfolio of international cricket rights throughout sub-Saharan Africa. The rights cover 200 days per year of live coverage of Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the West Indies, as well as South Africa and Zimbabwe.

The multi-platform deal will see SuperSport broadcast the matches via its online streaming website and next generation mobile phones as well as over its television channels. It adds to an ever-increasing portfolio of sports rights held by SuperSport, including the English Premier League and the Uefa Champions League in soccer.

"SuperSport is the network of choice for sports in South and sub-Saharan Africa. Their excellent reach, creative ad packaging, and overall broadcast professionalism make them one of our key syndication partners globally," said Taj Television's chief executive Chris McDonald.

SuperSport chief executive Imtiaz Patel described himself as "excited" by the deal, and outlined the company's aim to, "provide our subscribers all over Africa the highest standard of International cricket coverage either in the comfort of their homes or on the move."
