Super Bowl quarterback Brees signs short-term deal
Brand Affinity Technologies (BAT) has brokered a deal that will see New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees advertise online florist ProFlowers in the build-up to the Super Bowl.
Brees' image will be used in ProFlowers' digital advertising for a period of two weeks from Monday, according to CNBC's Darren Rovell, who adds that BAT chief executive Ryan Steelberg prides himself on his company's ability to do such quick deals.
"We have Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon, Marques Colston and Pierre Thomas,” Steelberg told Rovell. "We can do deals for these guys within 24 hours."
Steelberg added: "Drew's appeal definitely ranges outside those who are interested in the core sports. The fact that a flowers company wants to do something with him says that he doesn't just speak to men, but to women as well."
