Sportingbet to break new ground in motorsport betting
Sportingbet, the Australian bookmaker, has announced a new partnership with V8 Supercars, Australia's most popular motorsport series. The partnership sees the launch of a new, V8-branded betting site - V8bet.com.au - ahead of the weekend's racing.
White-label betting sites have become increasingly popular in Australian sport, with the Australian Football League perhaps the best example - the majority of clubs in the league now have their own branded sites. The new V8 site will see a host of new markets, with the company adamant that it breaks new ground in Australian motorsport betting.
"V8bet will have a range of motorsport markets that have never been seen before in Australia with everything from our normal win markets to quinellas, head to heads, lap times and many more," said Sportingbet Australia chief executive Michael Sullivan. "V8bet will also have betting on all our regular horse racing, AFL, Rugby League and a huge range of other sports on top of all the new motorsport markets. It will be the one stop shop for punters and particularly those with an interest in V8's and other forms of motorsport."
The site will operate on the same split-revenue basis that has proved so successful in the AFL.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for our fans to get a bet on the Championship with a totally reliable and Australia wide betting organisation, one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere," said V8 Supercars executive chairman Tony Cochrane. "You can make a bet on any of the major sports and horse racing, but the V8bet site is designed with a focus on our fans. We welcome Sportingbet to the ever growing stable of leading companies involved in V8 Supercars and we are certain that over time this will prove to be a strong partnership which will help grow our sport."
Sullivan concluded: "This is the first time in Australia that a whole sport has signed up with a betting organisation to provide a betting platform for their fans and Sportingbet is excited to be involved."
