Sportfive looks to America with new handball deal

Sportfive's presence in handball is extending beyond Europe, with the USA Team Handball Association the latest addition to the sports rights agency's roster.
Sportfive will market all television and marketing rights of the USATH outside the USA until 2015. According to reports, the contract is worth a guaranteed sum of just over US$100,000 per year, with a percentage of potential profits also believed to be on offer.
The deal also includes rights to the match between Germany and Poland, to be held in Chicago in July. Sportfive signed Goldgas as the German national team's sponsors last month in a seven-figure deal, and holds the TV and marketing rights for the German Handball Federation.
