Spanish Basketball League signs further broadcast deals

The Spanish Basketball League (ACB) has partnered with Israeli broadcaster Charlton TV for the 2009-10 season broadcast rights.

Digital sports specialists Perform organised the deal, which will see two live ACB games shown each week.

Adar Zehavi, chief executive of the Charlton TV Sport1 and Sport 2 channels said: “We are happy to join the ACB Family and proud to broadcast the best basketball league in Europe. A league that is now even more important to the Israeli sports fans since the recruitment of the Israeli player Lior Eliyahu to Caja Laboral Vitoria”.

Zehavi added: “Spanish basketball league will be part of the perfect basketball offering of Sport1 and Sport2. We will continue our efforts to provide our viewers with the best TV sports  package in Israel, as we are doing today.”

Commenting on the deal, Josep Senespleda, ACB general manager, said: “Agreement with Charlton  TV, one of the big broadcasters in Israel, is good news for ACB and Spanish basketball. Basketball is tradition in Israel, so it is an honor to provide our ACB show to such a huge  group of passionate fans through Sport1 and Sport2. With this deal, ACB is reaching more than 40 countries over the world proving the interest for the spanish basketball league outside our  country".

ACB has also recently signed further broadcast rights to Turkish public television broadcaster TRT.
