French soccer club Lyon has landed a new shirt sponsor, agreeing a deal with Sony to advertise Playstation 3 during Ligue 1 matches for the rest of the season.
The deal comes as the club waits for a change in French law to allow it to showcase Betclic, which already appears on the team's shirts for Uefa Champions League matches outside France. According to French press reports, the partnership with Sony will net the club almost €2 million.
Lyon are currently fifth in Ligue 1, an astonishing low for a team that has dominated Ligue 1 in recent years. Last season was the first time the club had failed to win the French title since 2001.
