Skoda ups ice hockey backing with Deutschland Cup

Skoda, the car company that has sponsored the ice hockey world championships a record 17 times in a row, will be the official automobile partner of the Deutschland Cup.
Skoda will provide transport for the teams competing in the international tournament, including the USA and Switzerland. The Deutschland Cup is being billed as a dress rehearsal for the IIHF World Ice Hockey Championships 2010, to be held in Germany next May.
The tournament has been held for the last 22 years. "We are pleased to accompany the Deutschland Cup," said Hermann Schmitt, managing director of Skoda Germany, which also has sponsorship agreements in place with the German Ice Hockey League and the German Ice Hockey Federation.
