The 2009 Thailand Open, which will be played at the Laguna Phuket Golf Club in March, will be known as the Singha Thailand Open after a US$200,000 sponsorship deal was agreed with the country's largest brewer, the Singha Corporation.
The tournament, which has not been played for three years due to a lack of sponsors, offers a prize of US$500,000 to the winner.
It will be a full-field event on the Asian Tour and will feature a number of US PGA Tour professionals.
The competition will be broadcast live on ESPN Star Sports and a local terrestrial channel.
