Schroeder Wurstwaren has signed a partnership with soccer club Kaiserslautern, the four-time German champions currently stuck in the second tier of the Bundesliga.
The company will receive significant advertising presence in the club's Fritz Walter Stadium in return for supplying Kaiserslautern's catering department with a wide variety of top class produce. It will also receive a number of branded kiosks around the ground to sell its own 'Devil Sausages'. The partnership was negotiated by Sportfive.
"When a traditional company like Schroeder gets involved with an historic club like FCK, it makes for a particularly well-matched partnership," said Stefan Kuntz, Kaiserslautern chief executive. "Buying a sausage is part of any visit to the stadium, and with Schroeder you get excellent quality."
Marc Hassenzahl, Sportfive's Kaiserslautern team leader, added: "Now the company will continue to have the opportunity to present itself and its products at FCK home games, which is pretty tasty deal - not least for the fans."
Kaiserslautern have won the German title as recently as 1998, but were relegated from the top flight in 2006 and have been unable to secure promotion since.
