Kayem Foods has landed the lucrative role of official hotdog vendor at Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. Over a million hotdogs are sold at the ballpark each season. Kayem Franks are the best-selling hotdog in New England, with over US$20 million of sales in 2008.
"Everyone at Kayem really considers this to be a home run. It's an exciting time, we have the iconic Red Sox brand and Kayem brand together," said Ralph Smith, chief executive of Kayem. "And with these Fenway Franks being produced right here in Chelsea, it will be a big boost to the local economy."
Sam Kennedy, the Red Sox vice president of sales, said: "It's a great thing, Fenway is a New England institution and it's great to partner with Kayem - who are actually celebrating their one hundredth anniversary this year so there's a lot of symmetry to the partnership and we hope it gets off to a good start."
