Practice makes perfect for Phoenix Suns

Contract summary

Length of contract: 1 year
Annualised value: US$350,000
Overall value: US$350,000

The Phoenix Suns NBA franchise will today announce a deal that will see The Annexus Group become a sponsor of both their practice jerseys and their practice court events.

The Annexus group, a Scottsdale-based financial services firm, becomes the second company to strike such a deal in the NBA. Last week, the New Jersey Nets signed a similar deal with PNY technologies that also included the naming rights to the Nets' practice facility.

The Suns deal with the Annexus Group, while details have not yet been released, is believed to be worth a little less than the contract the Nets signed last week.

The NBA, like the NFL, is now allowing teams to sell sponsorship of their practice jerseys to raise additional revenues.

The Suns deal comes just three months after its sister franchise, the Phoenix Mercury,  inked a landmark multi-million dollar jersey sponsorship deal with Lifelock, the first of its kind in the WNBA.
