Polo Ralph Lauren has extended its sponsorship of the US Olympic Committee, and will outfit the US Olympic Teams at the 2010 and 2012 Olympic Games.

Polo Ralph Lauren has extended its sponsorship of the US Olympic Committee, and will outfit the US Olympic and Paralympic Teams at the 2010 and 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The deal continues a partnership which saw Polo Ralph Lauren outfit the US Olympic and Paralympic teams in Beijing in 2008.

USOC sponsorships are normally worth between US$2 million and US$3 million per year, but Polo Ralph Lauren will not be paying anything up front. Instead, as well as providing the clothes, it will pay the USOC a royalty of 10 per cent from the sale of any items carrying the Olympic seal.

"We are thrilled that Polo Ralph Lauren will be returning to outfit Team USA at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Vancouver and London," said USOC chief marketing officer Lisa Baird. "Polo Ralph Lauren is an iconic American company and we greatly appreciate the elevated style and classic look that will be donned by US athletes at the opening and closing ceremonies and throughout the Games. It is a look that we feel all Americans will be proud to wear as they support Team USA in 2010 and 2012."
