Dunfermline Athletic and the Purvis Group have extended their shirt sponsorship agreement for another season.
Dunfermline are currently in the second tier of Scottish soccer, but have reached the semi-final of the Scottish FA Cup. Should the Pars overcome Scottish Premier League side Falkirk, they will face St Mirren or Glasgow giants Rangers, last year's winners, in the final of the competition, the second oldest tournament in soccer.
"It is an awkward time financially for all clubs, so any income from sponsorship is welcome," said club chairman John Yorkston. "This will be the fifth season that the Purvis Group have been our main shirt sponsor and I can only thank them for all their financial as well as practical support they have provided Dunfermline Athletic over this period. We are delighted that the Purvis Group are pleased with the exposure that main shirt sponsorship brings to their organisationand we are glad that their logo will continue to appear on our shirts for another season."
Bob Purvis, managing director of the Purvis group, said: "We are enjoying the long-term relationship which has been established between the Purvis Group and Dunfermline Athletic Football Club and enjoy working with Dunfermline Athletic on a number of levels. We feel it is extremely positive and has raised awareness of the Purvis Group substantially by being associated with a major club such as Dunfermline Athletic which continues to enjoy success by reaching such a major semi-final as we face on Sunday and hopefully with the possibility of another cup final in the offing."
