H2O Audio has signed record-breaking Olympian swimmer Michael Phelps to a new endorsement deal.

The sponsorship - the first Phelps has signed since being suspended from competition after being pictured smoking a bong at a party - will see Phelps' picture used on the packaging and retail displays of the company's range of waterproof headphones and accessories.

"Music has always been a huge part of my life and my training," said Phelps. "Their line of waterproof headphones and accessories will help swimmers of all ages and skill levels, as well as other athletes, to incorporate music as part of their time in and around the water."

H2O Audio chief executive Kristian Rauhala added: "Our relationship with Michael will undoubtedly benefit our technology, product performance and design."
