Overall value: US$680,000
The pitch in the newly-built Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, which will host Fifa World Cup matches in June, will be relaid at a cost of almost US$700,000 after the original surface suffered problems with drainage.
The original pitch has been removed and the clay surface it was built on has been dug up, in response to Fifa's official inspection in November. The installation of the new pitch is expected to take just a few days, and will cost US$680,000.
The pitch will then be playable by the end of February, in time for the 43,500-capacity stadium's first match on March 3 - a friendly between Ghana and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The Mbombela Stadium will host matches between Honduras and Chile, Italy and New Zealand, Australia and Serbia, and North Korea and Ivory Coast.
