French commercial television network M6 has won the rights to broadcast the French international soccer team's upcoming away game with Ireland.

The one-off rights to the Irish leg of France's World Cup qualifying play-off games were awarded to M6 after a rival bid from TF1 came up short.

The game is due to take place in Ireland on Saturday 14th November, with the second leg in France scheduled for Wednesday 18th November. 

The World Cup qualifying play-offs, which will see Ireland take on France, Portugal take on Bosnia-Herzegovina, Greece take on Ukraine and Russia take on Slovenia, have attracted controversy after Fifa apparently made an about turn in policy to instigate a seeding system.

The winners of all four ties will take their places at next year's Fifa World Cup in South Africa.
