Length of contract: 10 years
Annualised value: US$7 million
Overall value: US$70 million

French soccer side Olympique Lyonnais have terminated their kit deal with Umbro to sign a new 10-year deal with Adidas.

Lyon, French Ligue 1 champions seven times in the last eight years, signed an extension to their Umbro contract in 2007 that would have seen the team play in the British manufacturer's kits until 2013.

Shortly afterwards, however, Umbro was bought out by Nike and the club's relationship with the brand is thought not to have changed significantly.

The new deal with Adidas will come into effect at the end of the coming season.

A statement on the club's website concerning the financial details of the deal read, "Each season, Olympique Lyonnais will receive from Adidas a minimum payment comprising a lump sum plus royalties on sales of products bearing the Olympique Lyonnais and Adidas brands. This payment may be adjusted depending on sales performance and Olympique Lyonnais' results in domestic and/or European competitions."

That being said, the deal is estimated to be worth around US$7 million annually to the French club.
