Lucozade Sport will become the first official sports nutrition supplier to UK Athletics (UKA) after striking a deal with the British governing body.

The company, which subjects all its products to independent tests for substances banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), will provide a range of nutrition products to UK athletes for the next four years.

Lucozade sponsor a number of sporting individuals and institutions worldwide, including the Premier League, England's top-tier soccer competition.

Its association with British athletes goes back decades, and has included endorsement deals with such legendary figures as two-time Olympic decathlon champion Daley Thompson.

The Lucozade Sports Science Academy, Lucozade's research arm, has been carrying out Sports Nutrition research for over 30 years. Scientists from the Academy will educate athletes in sports science as part of the deal.
