London Wasps sign record partnership

London Wasps have signed the most lucrative commercial partnership in their history, agreeing a two-year, seven-figure partnership with technology providers EMC.

The partnership, worth UK£1 million (US$1.65 million) in cash and services, is an expansion of the existing association between the two parties that has made EMC an official partner of the Guinness Premiership rugby union club for the past two seasons. EMC's logo will now adorn the front of the team's shirts.

"London Wasps are delighted to confirm EMC as their club sponsor ahead of a season that marks powerful intent both on and off the pitch," said Mark Rigby, Wasps executive chairman. "Partnering with a hugely impressive global brand for the next two seasons, today's announcement not only stands as a marker for our future but also our history, securing our highest-ever value commercial partnership through the £1 million agreement. Given the current financial climate, this undoubtedly shows a combined strength of two brands that not only have reciprocal commercial appeal but whose values come together so robustly.
