Korea's golf channel, J Golf, has signed a broadcast agreement with the Asian Tour in a three-year deal for live coverage of tournaments, highlights and magazine shows.
Asian Tour senior director, TV and commercial, Eric Lynge, said: "The agreement will see J Golf, which bills itself as 'Korea’s Golf Channel', broadcasting Asian Tour live tournaments, highlights and magazine shows from 2010 to 2012.
“The Asian Tour has visited no fewer than 19 countries in recent times and the rise in playing standards, as evident by Y E Yang’s victory at last year’s PGA Championship where he became Asia’s first male Major champion, will mean that Korean audiences will enjoy Asian golf of the highest standard from this season onwards.”
Heesang Park, general manager for J Golf, added: “It is a great pleasure and honour for J Golf to broadcast one of the three major international Tours, the Asian Tour, in particular through our three-year partnership with the Asian Tour. For many Korean stars achieving brilliant results on the Asian Tourlast year, including K.J. Choi (Iskandar Johor Open winner), Bae Sang-moon (GS Caltex Maekyung Open winner), Korean American Anthony Kang (Maybank Malaysian Open winner), and many others, we are confident that the Asian Tour consists every factor to attract the Korean golfer as well as the viewers. We believe that J Golf and the Asian Tour partnership is a win-win in its true sense.”
