Input Media retains Roland Garros production contract
Sports production company Input Media has retained the contract to produce the world feed, daily highlights and a range of other production services at the French Open tennis championships in Paris for the next three years.
The London-based independent were awarded the contract by the French Tennis Federation (FFT) after a competitive tender process.
Input Media will produce more than 150 hours of programming on site from Roland Garros – including the world feed and daily highlights, and an hour-long tournament review show. Everything will be delivered in HD and SD. In addition, Input Media will provide highlights and feature content for the website and tournament big screens.
Input Media first won the French Open world feed contract in 2008. The new contract runs until 2012.
"We are delighted to have been retained by the FFT," said David Wood, Input Media executive chairman. "The French Open is one of the world's greatest annual sporting events and it's a privilege to be associated with it. To have been retained is a tribute to the hard work and innovation the Input Media team has brought to the French Open world feed, and the other production services we have delivered at Roland Garros. We’re excited about the future, and the new ideas we have for all our French Open programmes going forward."
Input Media's production plan involves a fully networked EVS-IPD infrastructure and a mix of London-based and local production staff. Presteigne-Charter will continue as Input Media's facilities supplier.
Chiswick-based Input Media also has offices in Manchester and Cape Town. The company is privately owned and fully independent, and has its own HD editing, studio and technical facilities.
