Hummel agrees kit contract with Polonia Warszawa
Contract summary
Length of contract: 3 yearsAnnualised value: US$500,000
Overall value: US$1.5 million
Hummel will manufacture kits for Polish soccer club Polonia Warszawa for the next three years.
The club, champions of Poland for the second time in 2000, finished fourth in the Ekstraklasa - the top tier of Polish soccer - last year. The team had been relegated to the second tier in 2006, but regained its place in the top flight in 2008 when it merged with Dyskobolia Grodzisk Wielkopolski, winners of the Polish Cup in 2007.
The new Hummel home and away kits will pay tribute to the two clubs. One will be black - the traditional colours of Polonia Warszawa since 1912, while the other will be white with coloured sleeves and sides, in a style reminiscent of Dyskobolia Grodzisk Wielkopolski's strips.
They will also both feature Hummel's trademark chevron design. Marek Kunda of Hummel Poland said that the company, "wanted to emphasise tradition and history, but also include Hummel's well-known features."
