Hull City following in Tottenham Hotspur’s footsteps
Just days after Tottenham Hotspur announced plans for a training ground the club claims will be the best in Europe, another Premier League team has launched its own plans.
Hull City, Premier League newcomers last season, have bought 93 acres of land at Melton, near North Ferriby, to build a new venue which will host both its training ground, currently based in Cottingham, and its youth academy.

The club must secure planning permission from East Riding council before work can begin, but is optimistic that that will be secured, and plans to complete the construction of the new venue by 2012.
"The planning process is expected to take some months and full realisation of the site is probably two years away, but this is a very important and exciting first step," said the club's chairman, Paul Duffen.
Duffen spoke out last week to deny rumours in the British press that the club is in financial peril. The investment in the new training ground would appear to confirm the healthy state of the club's accounts.
