Giant jockey Coleman signs with Racing UK
Up-and-coming horse racing star Aidan Coleman has signed a two-year endorsement deal with British horse racing broadcaster Racing UK.
The two-year deal will see Coleman become an ambassador for the specialist channel, which is committed to broadcasting 650 live race meetings a year. He will sport Racing UK branding throughout the 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 seasons as well as make numerous television and media appearances.
21-year old Coleman, unusually tall for a jockey at six foot, has impressed over the last two seasons and took a win on Kayf Aramis at this year's Cheltenham Festival. He is tipped to become a star of the future.
"Aidan Coleman is one of the most exciting new racing talents to emerge in recent years," said Racing UK's commercial director Nick Mills. "We look forward to seeing the Racing UK brand carried to success at high profile races all around the country this jump season."
It is hoped the deal will prove to be a landmark in Racing UK's attempt to rebuild itself as an independent broadcaster after the demise of its partner, Setanta, earlier this year. Racing UK already has more dedicated subscribers than it did prior to joining Setanta in 2006 and the Coleman deal is designed to capitalise on recent success.
