France Télévisions and Eurosport to screen Coupe de France
Contract summary
Length of contract: 4 yearsAnnualised value: US$5 million
Overall value: US$20 million
The French Football Federation, the governing body of soccer in France, has sold the broadcast rights to the Coupe de France to France Télévisions and Eurosport for the next four seasons.
The contract, worth slightly more than €14 million over the four year term, guarantees television coverage for a competition that has lost some prestige in recent years. Last year, the cup was won by EA Guingamp, a Ligue 2 team - the first time a second-tier side had won the competition in half a century.
"The FFF is proud that France Télévisions and Eurosport have confirmed their agreement with the federation to renew their collaboration with the queen of French football competitions," said Noël Le Graët, vice-président of the FFF.
The Coupe de France was first held in 1918.
