Consultancy Pmplegacy has signed on as an official supplier to England's bid to host the Fifa World Cup in 2018.

The company, which has already been working on the bid for the past five months, has been handed a crucial role in identifying which English cities and stadiums should be included as part of the bid. It will continue its work until the final technical bid is submitted to Fifa next year.

"We are delighted to be working with England 2018/2022 on this important project and are enjoying contributing to what needs to be a thorough and robust selection process," said Cathy Livock, director of consulting at Pmplegacy.

Financial terms for the deal were not revealed, but financial giant PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) is investing £1 million (US$1.65 million) in cash and services in the bid, and sources suggest Pmplegacy's offering could be on a similar scale.
