Canary Wharf Classic confirms venue and sponsor
Organisers of the ISS Canary Wharf Classic, an innovative squash tournament that takes place in the heart of the east London business district, have extended a partnership with facilities services management company ISS and a hosting rights deal with Canary Wharf Group plc.
ISS will be title sponsor of the event until 2011, which will be held at the East Wintergarden venue in Canary Wharf – a “spectacular glass covered atrium accommodating up to 1,000 guests” - for at least two more years.
Eventis, which runs the tournament, concluded both deals for the tournament, which this year takes place between 22nd and 26th March and has, according to the organisers, enjoyed record early ticket sales.
Eventis director and squash leged Peter Nicol said of the tournament, which this year takes place for a seventh time: “It has become the focal point both within the global squash calendar and as a unique event within one of the world’s top business centres.”
Lucie Moore, Canary Wharf’s arts and events manager, added: “We are very pleased to renew our association and look forward to another event as successful as it has been in previous years.”
Eventis added that “interest in other available associations, which include the travel and hotel categories, has been equally promising and further underlines the event’s prestigious standing.”
