German consumer company Buchholz-Fachinformationsdienst has extended and expanded its sponsorship of domestic second tier soccer side FC Kaiserslautern.

The company will now act as an exclusive partner and will sponsor all the team's goals during the coming season. According to euFootball.biz,  the partnership will include the use of an on-cam mega-hoarding, as well as additional on-cam appearances for the company inside the team's Fritz Walter Stadium. The club's longstanding partner has also acquired an exclusive FC Kaiserslautern hospitality package.

Dieter Buchholz, former chairman of the supervisory board at Kaiserslautern and founder of bfd, expressed his delight at the extension of the partnership: "Since it was founded 23 years ago, our company has grown continuously. Precisely because of this, we want to send a positive signal in these times of negative headlines, and move together even closer with our club, FCK."

Kaiserslautern's chairman Stefan Kuntz emphasised that "it is a special sign of trust in the club's management when such devoted Kaiserslautern partners as Buchholz-Fachinformationsdienst expand their sponsorship so significantly in these trying economic times."

Marc Hassenzahl, head of the Sportfive team in Kaiserslautern which negotiated the deal, said: "We are thrilled to have won bfd as our third new Exclusive Partner. Bfd has backed FCK for many years and will have an even stronger presence at the Fritz Walter Stadium now. The expanded agreement shows that our customer is happy with the cooperation."
