The British government is expected to contribute some US$4.1 million to England's bid to host the 2018 World Cup - just half of what the bid committee were seeking.
While exact terms are yet to be finalised, the Daily Telegraph newspaper reports that one key condition for government involvement is that the money is not to be used to pay the salaries of the people running the bid.
November's edition of SportsPro magazine includes a feature interview with Andy Anson, chief executive of England's World Cup bid, discussing the campaign. For more information on SportsPro magazine, click here.
