British company wins Delhi Commonwealth Games contract

Satellite Information Service Live (SIS) will be the official broadcaster for next year's Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, after agreeing a deal with The Prasar Bharati.

The partnership, which local press reports as being worth as much as US$500 million, saw SIS beat nine other companies bidding for the contract.

The 2010 competition will be the first time the Commonwealth Games have ever been held in India. The Games, held every four years, feature the best athletes from the 53 states which make up the Commonwealth of Nations, including Canada, Australia and South Africa as well as England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
