Brawn GP secured a one-race sponsor for the final race of the 2009 Formula One season, the inaugural Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with Qatar Telecom backing the world championship winning team.
Qtel branding featured on the rear wing, chassis and cockpit sides of the Brawn-Mercedes cars of world champion Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello throughout the weekend.
"We are delighted to be partnering with Qatar Telecom this weekend as Formula One returns to the Gulf for the final race of the 2009 season," said Ross Brawn, team principal of Brawn GP.
Dr Nasser Marafih, chief executive of Qtel, added: "Qtel's profile is increasing across the Gulf region and our ambitious agreement with the new World Champions Brawn GP is the ideal partnership to drive awareness of our brand to a new level."
Whether the company will attempt to sign a sponsorship with Brawn GP for the full season in 2010 remains to be seen.
