The Vietnam Football Federation has agreed a sponsorship deal with Boss, the paint brand owned by 4 Oranges.
Boss joins Nike, Yamaha and Huu Lien A Chau as a sponsor of the VFF, paying US$117,000 for its position on the national team's jersey. That is the same amount as Yamaha's sponsorship. Both are dwarfed by Nike's long-term deal, worth several million dollars. Vietnam has become something of a hot property after winning the Southeast Asian Football Cup in 2008.
The team also reached the quarter-final of the Asian Cup in 2007, and has been hotly tipped to challenge for the trophy at the next tournament in 2011. The team is coached by Portuguese Henrique Calisto, the former Boavista and SC Braga coach.
