DSM, a Dutch firm that creates innovative products and services in the life and material science sector, designed to support a more sustainable way of life, has agreed to become a sponsor of the Dutch bobsled team.
The company will sponsor both the two-man and four-man bob as part of its ‘innovation is our sport programme’. The deal comes just weeks before the winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.
“TeamNL and DSM are a perfect fit,” said Rob van Leen, chief innovation officer at DSM. “The bobsled team represents top results, ambition and teamwork. DSM supports them with innovations in materials on their road to Vancouver.”
DSM has been involved in the development of the team’s bobsleds and is also a partner of the Dutch Olympic Committee, for which it develops nutritional and material innovations. Past successes have included the development of a new boat for the Dutch sailing team, which resulted in a silver medal in the 470 class for the country at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
